permalink Build-it-and-they-will-come never rang more true!  A big THANK YOU to the estimated 200 people that came out to The Mapping Project launch on Thursday as well as everyone that supported us by forwarding/tweeting/FBing/blogging and providing that invaluable thing called positive encouragement!  In a neighborhood brimming with incredible minds, it was refreshing to see new faces and hear a slew of different voices talk about the project, and we’re just as excited to be creating something together.  Just a few updates on our end:

We are continuing work with our designers and programmers to build out the map, including the information of all those that registered at the party, so stay tuned via Tumblr or Twitter.  Eventually, there will be a way for folks to register via the site.

We’ve created a Flickr feed and pool and photos are up! Check it:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/meetbodega/

We received some great press about the event including a post from PSFK: http://www.psfk.com/2009/10/made-by-bodega-the-mapping-project.html
Check out the rest of our press and links on our delicious page: http://delicious.com/meetbodega

Lastly, a few shout outs: Muchas gracias to Going.com, alldaybuffet, Liza de Guia, PSFK, MyOpenBar, Agency Spy, I Think You’re Swell & Brooklyn Farms for spreading the word about the event.  Major hearts to our crew of superhero designers: John Verrrochi, Dave Kerr, Joe Ippolito, Andrew Eaton, & Mike Manh.  Danke shein to DJ Jubilee, PBR, Shantell, Nadja Nebas & Andrew Hapke for getting the party started right.
Hearts explosion for our event partners: Marissa Shrum, Lauren Bozarth, Michael Romanowicz & Lisa Weinreb from IfWeRanIt—watch out for their new site to launch this month where they’ll feature short documentaries about young stunners running incredible ventures.  John Fiorelli from Cut&Paste, which is holding their Global Championships digital design battle this Friday 10/16—we’ll be there and you should be too!  And finally, Ruth Heronemus from 303GRAND who’s been the biggest supporter helping our growing endeavor get off the ground!

Phew, that was a long one, but like they say, it takes a village, and we borrowed a lot of sugar! Cheers!
