The Fruit Baskets Tradition Continues

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

Nowadays, the giving of fruit baskets from Edible Arrangements is gaining popularity. People, instead of giving flowers and chocolates, give fruit baskets during special occasions. This phenomenon has caused several flower shops to offer fruit basket arrangements. There were even shops that opened to specifically be in the fruit basket business. There are now shops that just sell gourmet fruit baskets and organic fruit baskets.

Fruit baskets, however, are not new creations. People before also used to give out fruit baskets during special occasions. It was said that the tradition of giving out fruit baskets started after weaving was first discovered.

After people learned to weave, they used the baskets they made to put their harvests. They would put eggs, grains, fruits, and vegetable in them. People would give out some of their harvests, which are nicely arranged in nicely woven baskets, to their relatives. This custom is for wishing their relatives blessings of food for the cold winter that would soon come.

One group of people who still does this traditional custom is the Jews. They have a celebration called Sukkot, which is a time when people celebrate the good harvest. During this time, the Jews celebrate by building outdoor structures that they decorate with their harvest of fruits, nuts, vegetables, and grains. The Jews would also give out fruit baskets filled with what their fields produced to foreigners to share with them the abundant blessings they received.

The tradition of these ancient cultures has seeped into the culture of the current generation. People nowadays also give out fruit baskets during special celebrations or occasions. Birthdays, promotions, births, weddings, and other celebratory moments are marked with people giving out fruit baskets.

The popularity of the practice has made some stores offer special discounts to fruit baskets arrangements like the Edible Arrangement coupon code given to customers.

Saved by Printable Dominos Coupons

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

Printable Dominos coupons that I found online have already saved me from trouble and embarrassment several times. The free Dominos coupons are big life savers to me during those times when I forgot to bring enough cash with me whenever I dine out at Dominos. That is why I never forget to stash my wallet with Dominos coupon codes just in case I fail to bring enough cash with me again.

That was what happened to me again last Saturday. I was going home from work when I suddenly felt hungry. I forgot to eat lunch earlier, so my stomach was really growling and complaining hard. When I passed by a Dominos Pizza store on my way home, I couldn’t resist stopping by to grab a bite.

I went through its drive-through lane to order a take out. When I took out my wallet to pay for my order I realized that I did not have enough cash to pay for what I ordered. It was a good thing that I had with me the Dominos coupons that that I printed out and stashed in my wallet. With the coupons I was able to pay for my order and save myself of the possible embarrassment that my carelessness could have brought.

The most embarrassing moment that the Dominos coupon saved me from was the time when I took my secretary out for midnight snack. We were working late on a case and were both tired and hungry. Dominos is just a few blocks from the office, so we decided to go there. We were at the parking lot when I checked my wallet to see how much cash I had on me. Cold sweat broke on my forehead when I saw that I only had five dollars. Good thing I just printed a few coupons. I used it to pay for our order without my secretary knowing how much of a klutz I am.

Our Fun Familhy Trip to London

Friday, November 25th, 2011

Our family trip to London was one of the best trips that we have ever taken. My husband had to go to London for work, and we decided that we would go and take the children with us. We knew that things were going to be more expensive in London then in the United States, so we already made up a plan to have a family budget while we were there. While my husband was at work the children and I went around and looked at many of the palaces in London and we absolutely loved it. It rained quite often during our trip, but in spite of all the rain we were still able to see many beautiful landmarks in London. We made most of the food that we ate there, because it was very expensive to eat in restaurants. There was one restaurant where the kids loved the pizza, it was called Pizza Greenwich. We went there about three times a week because the kids really liked it. We only stayed in London for two weeks, but even though it was a short trip it was one of my family’s favorite vacations.
